"Come, you lost atoms."

Like a spell, the line repeats through out the work, both in the resounding murmurings, and carved onto the goat skin that serves as one of the voicing organs.

The summoning is drawn from Bird Parliament, an epic by the twelfth-century Persian Sofi poet Farid ud-Din Attar:
Come you lost Atoms to your Centre draw,
And be the Eternal Mirror that you saw:
Rays that have wander'd into Darkness wide
Return, and back into your Sun subside.

ideally, one is at once moon

and sun,

& child and god & servant and guide & devotee
and prophet.

lost atoms, scattered
selves, from darkness wide, back
into the blazing Centre.
